kia ora, i’m hayley

Welcome to my personal labour of love.

Beginning in 2017, Tyde Swimwear came to life as I created this small passion project to sell bikinis. After learning about the detrimental impacts of the fast fashion industry and unethical supply chains on people and the earth at a young age, I changed directions in how I moved forward.

I handmade swimwear from ‘deadstock’ fabrics that would otherwise go to waste in landfills after their designers used them in fast fashion manufacturing runs. In the warmer months I spend more time in the water than out of it, so naturally, I wanted swimwear that was made ethically, lasted in the surf and could be worn day in and day out.

Years later, I’m are shaking things up. In the committment grow, evolve and learn, here is Tyde Collective; a wider brand rooted in aligning ourselves with Papatūānuku, mama earth. I believe that human connection, conscious consumption and collective action are key to achieving this, and that we must look ahead with optimism and aroha.
